Biography
Carey Loftin (31 January 1914 – 4 March 1997) was an American stuntman, stunt coordinator and actor. Born in Blountstown, Florida, he began working in films in the late 1930s and remained active until the early 1990s. He specialised in driving stunts and appeared in numerous productions as a driver or in minor roles.
Loftin performed stunts or drove in films including Thunder Road (1958), Bullitt (1968), Vanishing Point (1971) and The French Connection (1971). His acting credits include the truck driver in Duel (1971), General Bradley's driver in Patton (1970), an uncredited guard in Spartacus (1960) and an uncredited truck driver in an episode of Star Trek (1966). He also worked on television series such as Highway to Heaven.
