Biography
Clayton Townsend is an American film and television producer and production manager. Born on 9 February 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio, he began working in production management in the late 1980s and collaborated extensively with director Oliver Stone between 1988 and 1999. He served as associate producer and production manager on Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and co-producer on JFK (1991), before producing Natural Born Killers (1994) and Nixon (1995).
Townsend has produced a range of comedies and action films, including The 40 Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007), Bridesmaids (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Unbroken (2014) and Bird Box (2018). He has also worked as executive producer on projects such as Bad Company (2002) and the television series Ripley (2024). He won a Directors Guild of America Award for Born on the Fourth of July and received a Producers Guild of America nomination for Bridesmaids.
