Biography
Daniele Massaccesi is an Italian cinematographer and camera operator. He is the son of director and cinematographer Joe D'Amato (Aristide Massaccesi). Massaccesi has worked extensively as a camera and Steadicam operator on major international productions.
His credits as operator include The Martian (2015), John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), X-Men: First Class (2011), Prometheus (2012), Cloud Atlas (2012), Gangs of New York (2002), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), Jupiter Ascending (2015) and Inferno (2016). He has collaborated frequently with the Wachowskis on projects including Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending, Sense8 and Speed Racer, and with Ridley Scott on several films.
Massaccesi received his first major cinematography credit as co-director of photography (with John Toll) on The Matrix Resurrections (2021). He is also credited as Larry Hessel on some productions.
