Biography
David Wilmot is an Irish actor whose screen credits include Michael Collins (1996), I Went Down (1997), Intermission (2003), The Guard (2011) and Anna Karenina (2012). He has appeared in television series such as The Clinic, Ripper Street, Black Sails, Station Eleven and Bodkin.
His theatre work includes productions with the Druid Theatre Company and the Abbey Theatre. He originated the role of Padraic in The Lieutenant of Inishmore in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2001 and later performed it on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play in 2006 along with the Lucille Lortel Award and Theatre World Award.
In 2025 he played John Shakespeare in the film Hamnet and Bonnie Champion in the series House of Guinness.
