Biography

Edward Bianchi, also credited as Ed Bianchi, is an American television director and producer. Born on 24 April 1942 in Paterson, New Jersey, he began his career directing hundreds of commercials in the 1970s and 1980s for clients including American Express, Pepsi and Eastern Airlines, and was named Best Commercial Director of the Year in 1985.

Bianchi moved into episodic television in the late 1990s, directing episodes of Homicide: Life on the Street before working on prestige series such as The Wire (four episodes, 2002–2004), Deadwood (eight episodes across three seasons from 2004, also serving as producer on season two), Mad Men (2007) and Boardwalk Empire (seven episodes, 2011–2014). He has also directed for Yellowstone, Billions and City on a Hill.
