Biography
Henry Bumstead was an American production designer and art director. Born in Ontario, California, he worked in film for over fifty-five years and collaborated with directors including Alfred Hitchcock, George Roy Hill and Clint Eastwood.
He won Academy Awards for his work on To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) and The Sting (1973). Bumstead received further Oscar nominations for Vertigo (1958) and Unforgiven (1992). He designed sets for thirteen Eastwood films, including Unforgiven, Mystic River (2003) and Million Dollar Baby (2004).
