Biography

Jake Polonsky is a British cinematographer. He studied at the American Film Institute and the Royal College of Art in London, where he received the Freddie Young/BSC Cinematography scholarship.

After beginning his career with music videos and commercials, for which he won a CADS award, Polonsky moved into film and television. He served as director of photography on the Black Mirror episode 'National Anthem' (2011) and co-DP on Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018), as well as on series including Billions (2016–2020) and Doctor Who (2005). His feature credits include Senna (2010) and second-unit work on Divergent (2014) and Victoria & Abdul (2017). He was elected to the British Society of Cinematographers in 2015 and joined its board of governors in 2023.
