Biography
Jodie Foster is an American actor and director. Born Alicia Christian Foster on 19 November 1962 in Los Angeles, California, she began her career as a child actor in commercials and Disney films before gaining notice for her role in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976). She graduated magna cum laude from Yale University in 1985.
Foster won Academy Awards for Best Actress for The Accused (1988) and The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Other notable acting roles include Contact (1997), Panic Room (2002) and True Detective: Night Country (2024). She has directed feature films including Little Man Tate (1991) and Money Monster (2016), and television episodes including the Black Mirror instalment 'Arkangel' (2017).
