Biography
Joel McKinnon Miller is an American actor born on 21 February 1960 in Rockford, Minnesota. He studied theatre and opera at the University of Minnesota Duluth, briefly attended The Acting Company in New York, and completed his degree in 2007. He has been married to Tammy McKinnon since 1984 and has two children.
Miller is best known for playing Don Embry on the HBO series Big Love (2006–2011) and Detective Norm Scully on Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013–2021). His other credits include supporting roles in films such as The Truman Show (1998), Men in Black II (2002) and Super 8 (2011), as well as guest appearances on series including Malcolm in the Middle, Bones and American Horror Story.
