Biography
Matthew David Jones (born 5 August 1968) is a British television writer and producer. He began his career as a columnist for Doctor Who Magazine in 1995 and wrote the Virgin New Adventures novels Bad Therapy (1996) and Beyond the Sun (1997).
Jones worked as script editor on the Channel 4 series Queer as Folk (1999) and Love in the 21st Century (1999). He later wrote episodes of Doctor Who (2006), including the two-parter "The Impossible Planet" and "The Satan Pit", and the Torchwood episode "Dead Man Walking" (2008).
His other credits include writing for Stan Lee's Lucky Man (2017), Mr Selfridge (2015–2016), Dirk Gently (2012) and The Split (2020–2022), as well as producing work on Shameless.
