Biography

Nick Hurran (born 1959) is a British film and television director. He began his career at London's Royal National Theatre before directing for the BBC, including episodes of the series Boon (1986).

Hurran has directed multiple episodes of Doctor Who (2005), including the 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor (2013), and episodes of Sherlock (2010), for which his work on "His Last Vow" received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special. His other credits include the feature films It's a Boy Girl Thing (2006) and Little Black Book (2004). He is married to television producer Michele Buck.
