Biography
Steven Moffat is a Scottish television writer and producer. He studied English at the University of Glasgow and worked as a teacher before entering television. His early credits include the children's series Press Gang (1989–1993) and the sitcom Coupling (2000).
Moffat wrote episodes for the revived Doctor Who (2005) from 2005 onwards and served as showrunner from 2010 to 2017. He co-created and co-wrote the series Sherlock (2010–2017) with Mark Gatiss. He also contributed to the screenplay for The Adventures of Tintin (2011) and co-created Dracula (2020).
In the 2015 Birthday Honours he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to drama. He is married to producer Sue Vertue.
