Biography

Ole Bratt Birkeland is a cinematographer, also credited as Ole Birkeland. He has worked as director of photography on the television series The Crown (2016), Utopia (2013), His Dark Materials (2019), Tales from the Loop (2020) and Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams (2017), and on the films American Animals (2018), Judy (2019), Ticket to Paradise (2022), Ghost Stories (2018) and The Little Stranger (2018).

Birkeland served as director of photography on the 2026 series Dear England. He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers and has received BAFTA nominations for his work on Utopia and National Treasure, as well as British Independent Film Award nominations for American Animals and Judy.
