Biography

Paul Winfield was an American actor. He played Judge Larren Lyttle in the film Presumed Innocent (1990).

Winfield received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his performance as a sharecropper in Sounder (1972). He portrayed Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1978 television miniseries King, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award. He won an Emmy Award in 1995 for a guest role in the series Picket Fences.

He appeared in numerous films and television productions, including The Terminator (1984), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Cliffhanger (1993), Mars Attacks! (1996) and voice roles in The Simpsons and Batman: The Animated Series.
