Biography
Richard McCabe is a Scottish actor born on 18 August 1960 in Glasgow. He trained at RADA and has worked extensively in classical theatre since the 1980s. He is an Associate Artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
McCabe is known for film roles including Tony in Notting Hill (1999), Mr Higgins in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), Arthur Hammond in The Constant Gardener (2005), and Colonel Collins in 1917 (2019). On stage he played Harold Wilson in The Audience, winning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
