Biography
Robert Scheerer (1929–2018) was an American film and television director, actor and producer. He began his career as a dancer, appearing in films including Mister Big (1943) with the tap group the Jivin' Jacks and Jills, and performed on Broadway in Lend an Ear (1948), for which he received a Theatre World Award.
Scheerer later moved into directing, winning a Primetime Emmy Award in 1964 for The Danny Kaye Show and receiving three further Emmy nominations for episodes of Fame. He directed episodes of numerous series, including Gilligan's Island, Hawaii Five-O, The Love Boat, Dynasty, Matlock and Star Trek: The Next Generation (11 episodes). He also directed the feature film How to Beat the High Cost of Living (1980) and one episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine ('Shadowplay', 1994) as well as two of Star Trek: Voyager.
