Biography

Ronald Sanders is a Canadian film editor. He has edited the majority of David Cronenberg’s feature films since the late 1970s, including Naked Lunch (1991), Crash (1996), eXistenZ (1999), A History of Violence (2005) and Eastern Promises (2007). His other credits include Videodrome (1983), The Fly (1986), Coraline (2009) and A Dangerous Method (2011).

Sanders grew up in rural Manitoba, where his father worked as a projectionist. He graduated with a BA from the University of Manitoba in 1967 and began his career editing documentaries and working in sound editing before moving into picture editing on features in the mid-1970s. He has won four Genie Awards for Best Achievement in Editing, for Dead Ringers (1988), Crash, eXistenZ and Eastern Promises.
