Biography
Terry Rawlings, also credited as Terence Rawlings, was an English film and sound editor. Born in London in 1933, he began his career in the sound department in the early 1960s and transitioned to picture editing in the late 1970s.
He edited Alien (1979) for Ridley Scott, with whom he also worked on Blade Runner (1982, as supervising editor) and Legend (1985). Other notable credits include Chariots of Fire (1981), Alien³ (1992), GoldenEye (1995), Entrapment (1999) and The Phantom of the Opera (2004).
Rawlings received an Academy Award nomination for Chariots of Fire and multiple BAFTA nominations for editing. A founding member of the Guild of British Film and Television Editors, he was awarded the American Cinema Editors Career Achievement Award in 2006. He died in Hertfordshire in 2019.
