Biography

Timothy Dalton is a British actor. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his professional career on stage with the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. His film debut came in 1968 as Philip II of France in The Lion in Winter.

Dalton gained international recognition as James Bond in The Living Daylights (1987) and Licence to Kill (1989). He has appeared in films including Flash Gordon (1980), The Rocketeer (1991), Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003), Hot Fuzz (2007) as Simon Skinner, and The Tourist (2010). Television roles include Sir Malcolm Murray in Penny Dreadful (2014–2016) and Dr. Niles Caulder in Doom Patrol (2019–2023).
