Biography
Tommy Gormley is a Scottish director, producer and first assistant director. Born on 3 May 1968 in Glasgow, he is the son of filmmaker Charles Gormley and attended the University of Strathclyde.
He began working as an assistant director on British productions in the early 1990s before moving to major Hollywood films. Gormley has served as first assistant director on titles including Star Trek (2009), 2012 (2009), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Wonder Woman (2017) and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), and as producer or co-producer on several of these and other projects.
His sole directing credit to date is an episode of the series Fringe (2012). In 2014 he received the Outstanding Contribution to Craft award at the British Academy Scotland Awards.
