Biography

Anette Haellmigk is a German cinematographer. She began working in film in the early 1980s as a first assistant cameraperson on German television documentaries and with cinematographer Jost Vacano on productions including The NeverEnding Story (1984). Vacano mentored her and brought her to the United States, where she worked on several Paul Verhoeven films as well as second-unit photography on features such as Starship Troopers (1997) and Spider-Man 2 (2004).

Haellmigk moved into television as director of photography, shooting episodes of The West Wing (1999) after being hired by director Alex Graves. She has also worked on Big Love, Game of Thrones (ten episodes, 2013–2016), and Insecure. Her contributions to Game of Thrones earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations and multiple ASC Award nominations. In 2012 she received the Kodak Vision Award.
