Biography

Anna Paquin is a New Zealand actress. Born Anna Helene Paquin on 24 July 1982 in Winnipeg, Canada, she was raised in Wellington after moving there as a young child. She made her screen debut as Flora McGrath in the 1993 film The Piano, winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11.

Paquin is known for playing Rogue in the X-Men films (2000, 2003, 2006 and 2014) and Sookie Stackhouse in the HBO series True Blood (2008–2014), for which she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama. Other credits include Almost Famous (2000), She's All That (1999), 25th Hour (2002) and The Irishman (2019). She has also worked in theatre in New York and London.
