Biography

Arianne Phillips is an American costume designer born in New York City on 26 April 1963. She began her career styling musicians and has worked in film, theatre and music videos.

Her film credits as costume designer include Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019), A Complete Unknown (2024), Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) and The Invite (2026). She has collaborated repeatedly with director James Mangold on films such as Girl, Interrupted (1999), Walk the Line (2005) and A Complete Unknown. Phillips worked with Madonna for over twenty years on tours, videos and album artwork, and has designed for Broadway productions and opera.

She has received a Costume Designers Guild Award and nominations for four Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards and a Tony Award.
