Biography
Dave Grusin, also credited as Robert David Grusin, is an American composer, arranger, producer and jazz pianist. Born on 26 June 1934 in Littleton, Colorado, he studied music at the University of Colorado Boulder.
He has composed scores for numerous feature films, including Three Days of the Condor (1975), On Golden Pond (1981), Tootsie (1982), The Goonies (1985), The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), The Firm (1993) and Selena (1997). He frequently collaborated with director Sydney Pollack.
In 1988 Grusin won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Milagro Beanfield War. He has received multiple Grammy Awards and founded GRP Records with Larry Rosen in 1978.
