Biography

Emma Porteous is a costume designer. Born on 26 June 1936 in Calcutta, India, she began her career in fashion, working in Paris as a sketch artist before moving into television design for companies including ATV, Rediffusion and London Weekend Television.

Her first film credit was Performance (1970). She went on to design costumes for the television series Space: 1999 and numerous feature films, including Octopussy (1983), A View to a Kill (1985), Aliens (1986), The Living Daylights (1987), Clash of the Titans (1981) and Judge Dredd (1995). She has more than fifty credits in film and television; her final credit was on Lover's Prayer (2001).

Porteous has received nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and three Saturn Awards.
