Biography
John Slattery is an American actor and director. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Catholic University of America and moved to New York City to pursue acting. His first professional role was in the 1988 series The Dirty Dozen.
He is best known for his role as Roger Sterling in the AMC series Mad Men (2007–2015), which earned him four Primetime Emmy nominations, and for playing Howard Stark in the Marvel films Iron Man 2 (2010), Ant-Man (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Other credits include Ben Bradlee Jr. in Spotlight (2015), Richardson in The Adjustment Bureau (2011) and John in the 2026 series Vladimir.
Slattery has been married to actress Talia Balsam since 1998.
