Biography

Raymond Stella, also credited as Ray Stella or Raymond N. Stella, is a cinematographer and former camera operator. Born on 4 December 1946, he worked extensively as a camera operator under cinematographer Dean Cundey on films including Halloween (1978), The Thing (1982) and the Back to the Future trilogy (1985–1990).

Stella served as director of photography on the later seasons of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1999–2003), contributing to 61 episodes. He also shot Dean Cundey's directorial debut Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (1997) and other projects such as House of the Dead 2 (2005). He has additional credits as second unit director of photography on films including Braveheart (1995) and Apollo 13 (1995).
