Biography

Robert Watts (23 May 1938 – 30 September 2024) was a British film producer and production manager. He began working in the industry in 1960 after National Service, starting as a runner and progressing to roles on films including 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Papillon (1973).

Watts collaborated extensively with George Lucas and Lucasfilm. He served as production supervisor on Star Wars (1977), associate producer on The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), co-producer on Return of the Jedi (1983), and producer on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). He also produced Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and Alive (1993).

His half-brother was actor Jeremy Bulloch, who played Boba Fett in the original Star Wars trilogy. Watts was the grandson of screenwriter Walter Meade.
