Biography

Sally Menke was an American film editor. Born Sally JoAnne Menke in Mineola, New York, on 17 December 1953, she died on 27 September 2010. She graduated from New York University and began her career editing both documentaries and narrative films in the 1980s.

Menke maintained a long collaboration with director Quentin Tarantino, editing all of his films from Reservoir Dogs (1992) through Inglourious Basterds (2009). Her credits include Pulp Fiction (1994), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) and Death Proof (2007). She received Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing for Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds. Other credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Heaven & Earth (1993) and All the Pretty Horses (2000).
