Biography
Simon Kinberg is a British-American film producer, screenwriter and director. Born in London in 1973, he was raised in Los Angeles and graduated from Brown University and Columbia University School of the Arts.
Kinberg has produced numerous films for 20th Century Fox, including several entries in the X-Men franchise such as X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Deadpool (2016) and Logan (2017). He also produced The Martian (2015), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and A Haunting in Venice (2023). His production company Genre Films is credited on The Running Man (2025). He wrote the screenplays for Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) and Sherlock Holmes (2009), and made his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix (2019).
