Biography
Vernon L. Walker was an American cinematographer and special effects artist. He began his career in the silent era as a head cameraman for Otis B. Thayer's Art-O-Graf Film Company in 1919 and later worked extensively at RKO Pictures.
Walker received cinematography credits on King Kong (1933) and Son of Kong (1933). He is best known for his special effects work on films including Citizen Kane (1941), Notorious (1946), Bringing Up Baby (1938), Suspicion (1941), Cat People (1942), The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), The Spiral Staircase (1946) and Murder, My Sweet (1944). He was nominated for four Academy Awards for Best Special Effects.
