Biography
Vittorio Storaro is an Italian cinematographer born on 24 June 1940 in Rome. He studied photography from the age of 11 and later attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
He began working with director Bernardo Bertolucci on The Conformist (1970) and Last Tango in Paris (1972). His American debut was on Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now (1979). He has also collaborated with Warren Beatty on Reds (1981) and Dick Tracy (1990), and with Woody Allen on films including Café Society (2016).
Storaro received Academy Awards for Best Cinematography for Apocalypse Now (1979), Reds (1981) and The Last Emperor (1987). He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the Italian Society of Cinematographers.
