Biography

Claire Simpson is a British film editor. She began her career as an assistant editor on films including Caligula (1979) and Reds (1981).

Her editing credits include Salvador (1986), Platoon (1986), Wall Street (1987), The Constant Gardener (2005), The Reader (2008), All the Money in the World (2017), The Last Duel (2021), House of Gucci (2021), Napoleon (2023) and Gladiator II (2024). She has collaborated frequently with director Ridley Scott.

For Platoon, she won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing and a BAFTA Award for Best Editing. She received an Academy Award nomination for The Constant Gardener, for which she also won a BAFTA Award.
