Biography
David Cross is an American actor, writer and stand-up comedian. He began performing stand-up as a teenager and briefly attended Emerson College before dropping out to pursue comedy. He worked as a writer on The Ben Stiller Show, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1993.
Cross co-created and starred in the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David (1995–1998). He is best known for his role as Tobias Fünke in the Fox and Netflix sitcom Arrested Development (2003–2006, 2013, 2018–2019). He has also appeared in films including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) and provided voice work for the Kung Fu Panda series and Megamind (2010).
