Biography
David Crossman, also credited as Dave Crossman, is a British costume designer specialising in military and period costumes for film and television. He began his career at the costume hire company Bermans & Nathans and received his first film credit on Saving Private Ryan (1998).
He has worked as costume supervisor or designer on the Harry Potter series (2002–2005), several Star Wars films including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), 1917 (2019) and The Batman (2022), for which he co-designed the Batsuit. More recently he designed military costumes for Napoleon (2023) and Gladiator II (2024), both directed by Ridley Scott, and is credited on Warfare (2025) and Project Hail Mary (2026).
Crossman received Academy Award nominations for Best Costume Design for Napoleon (shared with Janty Yates) and Gladiator II (also shared with Yates).
