Biography
Dean Cundey is an American cinematographer born on 12 March 1946 in Alhambra, California. He graduated from the UCLA Film School in 1968.
He began working on low-budget films before collaborating with director John Carpenter on five features, including Halloween (1978) and The Thing (1982). Cundey later worked frequently with Robert Zemeckis on Romancing the Stone (1984), the Back to the Future trilogy (1985–1990) and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988).
His other credits as director of photography include Hook (1991), Jurassic Park (1993), Apollo 13 (1995) and episodes of The Mandalorian (2019). He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography for Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
