Biography
Harry Gregson-Williams is an English composer, conductor and orchestrator. Born on 13 December 1961 in Chichester, he trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London after earlier studies at Stowe School and as a chorister at St John's College School, Cambridge.
He began his film career as an assistant to Hans Zimmer and has composed scores for numerous films and video games. Notable credits include the Shrek series (2001–2010), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), The Martian (2015), The Meg (2018) and its sequel Meg 2: The Trench (2023), Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023) and Gladiator II (2024). He has collaborated repeatedly with directors including Ridley Scott and is the older brother of composer Rupert Gregson-Williams. He is also credited as one of The Gregson-Williams Brothers on some projects.
