Biography
Jim Clark (also credited as James Clark) was a British film editor and occasional director. He began working as an assistant editor at Ealing Studios in 1951 and made his feature editing debut in the mid-1950s. Over a career spanning more than fifty years, he edited more than forty feature films.
Clark received an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for editing The Killing Fields (1984) and a second BAFTA Award for The Mission (1986). He was nominated for BAFTA Awards for Marathon Man (1976) and Vera Drake (2004). Other notable editing credits include Charade (1963), The Innocents (1961), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Happy-Go-Lucky (2008). He received the American Cinema Editors Career Achievement Award in 2005 and published the memoir Dream Repairman: Adventures in Film Editing in 2011. He died in 2016.
