Biography
Marisa Tomei is an American actress. She was born on 4 December 1964 in Brooklyn, New York City. She began her career with roles in the soap opera As the World Turns (1983–1985) and the sitcom A Different World (1987).
Tomei gained prominence for her performance in My Cousin Vinny (1992), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She received further Academy Award nominations for In the Bedroom (2001) and The Wrestler (2008). Her other notable films include The Big Short (2015) and The King of Staten Island (2020). She was a founding member of the Naked Angels Theater Company and has appeared on Broadway.
She is known for portraying May Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026).
