Biography
Mark Irwin is a Canadian cinematographer. Born on 7 August 1950 in Toronto, Ontario, he studied at the University of Waterloo before completing a film programme at York University in 1973.
He began his career shooting documentaries and low-budget features in Canada. Irwin collaborated extensively with director David Cronenberg on films including Fast Company (1979), Scanners (1981), Videodrome (1983), The Dead Zone (1983) and The Fly (1986). He later worked with Wes Craven on Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994) and Scream (1996), and with the Farrelly brothers on Dumb and Dumber (1994), Kingpin (1996), There's Something About Mary (1998) and Me, Myself & Irene (2000).
Irwin moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and has additional credits including 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) and American Pie 2 (2001). He has received several Canadian Society of Cinematographers awards for his work.
