Biography
Mathieu Amalric is a French actor and filmmaker. Born on 25 October 1965 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, he first appeared in films in the mid-1980s and rose to prominence in French cinema with roles in Arnaud Desplechin's Comment je me suis disputé... (ma vie sexuelle) (1996) and Rois et reine (2004).
Internationally, he is known for supporting parts in Steven Spielberg's Munich (2005), as the villain Dominic Greene in Quantum of Solace (2008), Serge X. in Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and Marseille Bob in The Phoenician Scheme (2025). He has also appeared in Anderson's The French Dispatch (2021) and other films including Sound of Metal (2020). Amalric has received several César Awards and has directed features such as Tournée (2010).
