Biography
Tariq Anwar is a film editor born on 21 September 1945 in Delhi, British India. He was raised in Lahore and Bombay before moving to London with his mother after his parents divorced. He began his career in television, working at the BBC where he progressed from assistant to editor, before transitioning to feature films.
His breakthrough in features came with The Madness of King George (1994). He is known for editing American Beauty (1999), for which he received a BAFTA Award and an Academy Award nomination, and The King's Speech (2010), which earned him a further Academy Award nomination. Other credits include The Good Shepherd (2006), Revolutionary Road (2008) and One Night in Miami... (2020). He has also received a BAFTA Television Award for Oppenheimer (1980).
Anwar is the father of actress Gabrielle Anwar. He is based in the United States and the United Kingdom.
