Biography

Ted Elliott is an American screenwriter and film producer. He has frequently collaborated with writing partner Terry Rossio.

Born on 4 July 1961 in Santa Ana, California, Elliott received his first feature credit on Little Monsters (1989). With Rossio he co-wrote the screenplay for Aladdin (1992), Shrek (2001) and the first four Pirates of the Caribbean films (2003–2011).

Elliott served on the board of directors of the Writers Guild of America from 2004 to 2006 and stood unsuccessfully for its presidency in 2005. He co-founded the screenwriting websites Wordplay (with Rossio) and The Artful Writer (with Craig Mazin).
