Biography

Alberto Iglesias is a Spanish composer born on 21 October 1955 in Donostia-San Sebastián. He first gained recognition for his scores for Spanish films, particularly those directed by Pedro Almodóvar and Julio Medem, before working on international productions.

He has composed for many of Almodóvar’s films, including All About My Mother (1999), Talk to Her (2002), Volver (2006), The Skin I Live In (2011), Pain and Glory (2019) and The Room Next Door (2024). Other notable credits include The Constant Gardener (2005), The Kite Runner (2007), Steven Soderbergh’s Che (2008) and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011). Iglesias has received four Academy Award nominations for Best Original Score.
