Biography

Barrie M. Osborne is an American film producer and production manager. He was born on 7 February 1944 in New York City and is an alumnus of Carleton College.

Osborne began his career in production roles, including as production manager on Apocalypse Now (1979). He served as producer on Face/Off (1997) and executive producer on The Matrix (1999). He produced the Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003), sharing the Academy Award for Best Picture for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh.

He was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2017 for services to the film industry. Other credits include executive producer on The Great Gatsby (2013) and The Meg (2018).
