Biography
Danny Cohen (born 1963) is an English cinematographer and member of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC).
He studied social science at Sheffield Polytechnic (now Sheffield Hallam University) and began his career as a photographic technician at Middlesex Polytechnic before spending eight years as a camera assistant on documentaries, advertisements and feature films. His early feature credits as director of photography include Dead Man's Shoes (2004) and This Is England (2007), both directed by Shane Meadows.
Cohen has collaborated repeatedly with Tom Hooper on projects including Longford (2006), John Adams (2008), The King's Speech (2010), Les Misérables (2012) and The Danish Girl (2015). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography for The King's Speech. His television work includes multiple seasons of the series Slow Horses (2022–).
