Biography

Fabian Wagner (born 25 April 1978) is a German cinematographer. He was born in Munich and studied at the Northern Film School in Leeds, where he earned a master's degree. He began working as a cinematographer in 2004 on music videos and short films, later moving into television.

Wagner is known for his work on the television series Sherlock (2010), Game of Thrones (2011), The Crown (2016) and House of the Dragon (2022). His feature film credits include Justice League (2017), Overlord (2018), Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) and Venom: The Last Dance (2024). He is the cinematographer on the upcoming Masters of the Universe (2026).

His television work has earned him two Creative Arts Emmy Award nominations. He won American Society of Cinematographers Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Regular Series for the Game of Thrones episode "Battle of the Bastards" (2017) and for season 3 of The Crown (2020). He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the British Society of Cinematographers.
