Biography
John Cameron is an American director and producer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on 31 August 1985, he attended Birmingham Groves High School and briefly studied at New York University film school before leaving to work on The Evil Dead (1981). He is married to Hallie Singleton.
Cameron began his career in production and assistant direction, serving as first assistant director on Men in Black (1997) and Army of Darkness (1992), and as line producer or co-producer and unit production manager on Fargo (1996), The Big Lebowski (1998), Rushmore (1998) and O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000). He later produced Bad Santa (2003) and worked extensively in television.
As a director he has helmed episodes of Fargo (2014 and 2017), Legion (2018–2019), Dune: Prophecy (2024) and The Pitt (2025–2026). He has served as executive producer on Severance (2022), Legion and Fargo. Cameron has received a Primetime Emmy Award.
