Biography

Jon Gregory (21 May 1944 – 9 September 2021) was a British film editor. Born in Lahore, British Raj, to British parents, he was raised in England from the age of nine and educated at Reigate Grammar School. He worked at the BBC as a crew member and began his editing career with Ealing Studios.

His credits include Life Is Sweet (1991), Naked (1993), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Secrets & Lies (1996), Donnie Brasco (1997), The Proposition (2005), In Bruges (2008), The Road (2009) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). He received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Editing for Four Weddings and a Funeral and an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. He was a member of the American Cinema Editors and frequently collaborated with directors Mike Leigh and Mike Newell.
