Biography
Mark Mothersbaugh is an American composer and musician. He co-founded the new wave band Devo in the 1970s, serving as lead vocalist and keyboardist.
Through his company Mutato Muzika he has composed scores for numerous films and television series. His credits include The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), the Hotel Transylvania films (2012–2018), 21 Jump Street (2012), The Lego Movie (2014), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Cocaine Bear (2023) and A Minecraft Movie (2025), as well as the series Rugrats and The Residence (2025).
In 2004 he received the Richard Kirk Award from BMI for his contributions to film and television music. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Kent State University in 2008.
